Membership Benefits & Subscriptions

Membership of the IRSE provides an excellent framework for professional development with recognition of competence and achievement, including the opportunity to take the internationally recognised IRSE Exam and to become professionally registered with the Engineering Council.

Note: Membership benefits for new joining members will not commence until their first subscription is paid and their membership is activated. Benefits for existing members will only be available if the membership subscriptions are paid promptly in July of each year (suspensions will be imposed from November of each year).

Paying your membership subscription

The easiest way to pay for your membership subscription is through the secure online portal, please log into the website and take these few steps:   

  • Select "My Account" (top right corner)
  • Select "My Invoices" (left hand menu)
  • Click on your new subscription invoice, normally this is at the top of the list
  • Click the shopping trolley icon to be taken into the secure online payment process

Once you have paid, you can download or save your receipt by clicking on the printer icon next to the invoice you have just paid.

Subscriptions and Rates

The IRSE membership term runs from 1st July to 30th June each year. Should you join part way through a term you will be invoiced from your joining date to the end of the current term (or the end of the next term if joining in March/April/May).

There are two types of membership subscription available for members:  

  • E-membership – available for those who are happy to log into the IRSE website to read IRSE News
  • Standard membership – available for those wishing to receive hard copies of the IRSE News

To support members at all stages of their career journey, discounted membership subscription rates are available for students and those who are fully retired. Please let us know should your circumstances have changed as you may be eligible for these reduced rates.
